Data is critical to improve diagnosis, treatment and prevention of rare diseases. While countries in Europe have created databases to share data on rare diseases, India lacks any concerted efforts to gather and analyze data into useful databanks.

Robust data can provide a country like India with the right information to prevent, diagnose early and come up with indigenous treatment options.
